It’s impossible to build a new customer base, get management buy-in for a new venture, or compel investors to open their purses if they don’t believe in (or understand) what you’re trying to do. It’s even more difficult to get this across if the concept, approach or underlying technology of your business is innovative and original.
It takes work to create a compelling story for your business, that can be told across multiple different platforms. What tends to blandly be called ‘content’ is usually a mush of blog posts, hard sells and scattergun social media posts – with no overall strategy or cohesive narrative.
In this evening event run in partnership with General Assembly, we'll be discussing the importance of storytelling in business, the key to doing it successfully, and what happens if it goes wrong. We're lucky to have a brilliant panel of entrepreneurs and raconteurs including Pip Jamieson (founder, The Dots), Steve Strickland and Gary Wheeldon (co-founders, Talker Tailor Trouble Maker), Eddy Lawrence (journalist, editor and brand consultant) and Clever Boxer co-founder Simone Baird.
You’ll leave with a recipe for blending human interest, hard data, business benefits and brand design into the a potent storytelling cocktail.
