Making it in art and music (without compromising)

  • Shoreditch House 1 Ebor Street E1 6AW UK (map)

Digital culture has made it ever easier to create and distribute original art, but harder to make it into a stable career. Ambitious creatives need to be willing and able to explore diverse and inventive ways to get their work in front of audiences, and find ways to make their talent pay the bills.

Moving seamlessly from the dancefloor to the art gallery, Justin Robertson's career is a model of the creative agility young artists now need to embrace. For over two decades, he's achieved critical and commerical success as a DJ, producer for Lionrock and Deadstock 33s, promoter of Rebellious Jukebox, writer, and visual artist.

In conversation with journalist Eddy Lawrence, Justin provides insight into the skills, strategies, and attitudes the aspiring polymath needs to thrive in the multi-disciplinary world, without sacrificing their integrity, or missing the rent.

Clever Boxer has a small guestlist for each of our events. For a free ticket, please email and tell us why you'd like to come along.
