How to launch a cult magazine

  • Shoreditch House 1 Ebor Street E1 6AW London (map)

With the tagline ‘disco pogo for punks in pumps’, Jockey Slut launched in 1993 as a fanzine sold to the queue at the Hacienda, and became an era-defining dance music magazine. Until 2004, that is, when it abruptly closed. In this full and frank panel discussion with founders Paul Benney and Johnno Burgess, hosted by Clever Boxer’s Simone Baird, they’ll cover how they made it, what went wrong – and why they were responsible for Daft Punk needing those robot helmets.

Clever Boxer has a small guestlist for each of our events. For a free ticket, please email and tell us why you'd like to come along.
